The Fund for the School District of Philadelphia is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves as a fiscal intermediary between the private sector and Philadelphia's public education system. We identify, coordinate, and connect philanthropic resources—through effective public-private partnerships—to leverage investments in local public schools and impact student success regardless of zip code or family income.
We identify, coordinate and connect philanthropic resources—through effective public-private partnerships—to leverage investments in local public schools. We target strategic priorities that have an impact on the success of students regardless of their zip code, family income, or circumstances.
The Fund is the only philanthropic organization that works directly with school leadership to align the investments of partners—private foundations, corporations and businesses, community organizations and individual donors—with strategies that impact student success in Philadelphia's neighborhood public schools.
The team includes experienced nonprofit leaders, such as Derik Comalli, Vice President of Finance & Operations, who brings nearly 15 years of leadership in finance and operations management, including prior experience managing a $20M budget at the Children's Scholarship Fund of Philadelphia.
The Fund hosts and sponsors a variety of events and initiatives including the Accelerate Philly Awards, School Resource Academy Pitch Day, the Lindback Awards honoring principals and teachers, Operation Snowball holiday gift distribution, back-to-school bus tours, and graduation celebrations. The organization also partners with community organizations and corporate partners on educational initiatives and resource fairs.
