Project HOME has worked for 35 years to end chronic street homelessness and alleviate poverty in Philadelphia. The organization empowers adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty through housing, employment, healthcare, education, and community engagement programs. With the motto "None of us are home until all of us are home," Project HOME creates a safe and respectful environment supporting self-esteem, recovery, and self-actualization.
The mission of the Project HOME community is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society. We strive to create a safe and respectful environment where we support each other in our struggles for self-esteem, recovery, and the confidence to move toward self-actualization.
Project HOME has served Philadelphia for 35 years, working to end chronic street homelessness and poverty. The organization operates under the principle that none of us are home until all of us are home, offering comprehensive services including permanent supportive housing, adult education and employment opportunities, healthcare services, K-8 after school and college access programs, and advocacy and community engagement initiatives.
Project HOME offers six core service areas: Housing (permanent, subsidized homes for individuals and families experiencing homelessness), Adult Education and Employment (grounded in recovery principles), Healthcare Services (addressing health and wellness needs), K-8 After School and College Access Program, Advocacy and Community Engagement, and Social Enterprise. The organization also provides street outreach, a Where to Turn Guide, neighborhood services, and community development programs.
Project HOME hosts a variety of events including adult learning classes (Microsoft Office, Computer Basics, Website Building, Graphic Design, Podcasting), volunteer opportunities, art shows, community events, workshops, job fairs, wellness programs, and fundraisers. Upcoming offerings include specialized training in music production, DJing, and the Certified Peer Specialist program, along with the 6th Annual Race HOME 5k and 1-Mile Walk.
