Fairmount Park Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that leads and supports efforts to improve Philadelphia's parks. The organization supports City-owned and operated parks, playgrounds, and programs through collaboration and partnerships with communities.
The Board of Directors includes officers Carol S. Eicher (Chair & President), Carol Horne Penn (Vice President), Heshan Wanigasekera (Vice President), Surge Ghosh (Treasurer), and Mary Coe (Secretary). The board comprises 20 members and includes several ex officio representatives from city government, along with an Emeritus Council and emeritus members.
Fairmount Park Conservancy offers a diverse calendar of community events including guided hikes, nature walks, yoga classes, birding tours, boating activities, movie nights, workshops, and volunteer opportunities across multiple park locations. Events span categories such as family fun, arts and culture, history, meditation, and seasonal activities, with many programs designed to engage residents in outdoor recreation and park stewardship.
