With a mission centered on helping people know they matter, Gemma provides individualized, data-informed services including residential treatment, foster care and adoption support, mental health services, prevention programs, and Martin Luther School—a K-12 educational institution. Operating from multiple locations in Pennsylvania, Gemma accompanies community members through life's challenges with compassionate, evidence-based care.

Gemma Services resulted from the merger of Silver Springs - Martin Luther School and theVillage, creating a unified organization dedicated to accompanying children, youth, families, and individuals. The organization operates three main locations in the Plymouth Meeting and Philadelphia areas, offering a comprehensive range of behavioral health and educational services designed to support people navigating life's challenges.
Gemma Services is led by President & CEO Kristen E.M. Gay, Ph.D., who has devoted her career to serving children and families within the organization. The executive leadership team includes Joan Plump (Chief of Staff), Jamie Bowers (Chief Integrity Officer), Julie Goodin (Chief Financial Officer), Lynn Unipan (Chief Development and Communications Officer), and several Vice Presidents overseeing operations, community-based programs, and residential services. The Board of Directors comprises professionals with expertise in finance, law, education, business, nonprofit leadership, and philanthropy.
Gemma Services offers residential treatment for children and teens, community-based programs including foster care and adoption services, mental health services, prevention services (including the LaunchPAD Program), and Martin Luther School—a K-12 institution serving students with autism and other learning needs. The organization also provides intensive behavioral health services, outpatient mental health care, and family support programs across its three locations.
Martin Luther School hosts regular news and events including school year openings, extended school year programming (summer 2026 running June 29–July 31), graduation celebrations, and community updates. Recent highlights include the transition to a new campus at Martin Luther School – Whitemarsh and the opening of Martin Luther School – Plymouth. The school publishes the Panther Roar newsletter to keep families informed of school happenings and milestones.
