Gemma Services was formed through the merger of Silver Springs - Martin Luther School and theVillage, combining decades of experience in behavioral health and child welfare. The organization operates three main locations in the Plymouth Meeting, Mt. Airy, and Philadelphia areas, offering a range of programs designed to support children, teens, families, and individuals facing life's challenges.
Gemma Services is led by President & CEO Kristen E.M. Gay, Ph.D., who has devoted her career to accompanying children, youth, and families. The executive leadership team includes Joan Plump (Chief of Staff), Jamie Bowers (Chief Integrity Officer), Julie Goodin (Chief Financial Officer), Lynn Unipan (Chief Development and Communications Officer), and Vice Presidents overseeing operations, community-based programs, and residential services. The Board of Directors comprises professionals with expertise in finance, law, education, business, and nonprofit leadership.
Gemma Services offers residential treatment for children and teens, community-based programs including foster care and adoption services, mental health services, prevention services (including the LaunchPAD Program), and Martin Luther School—a K-12 school serving students with autism and other learning needs. The organization also provides intensive behavioral health services, outpatient mental health care, and family support programs.
Martin Luther School hosts regular news and events including school year openings, extended school year programming (June-July 2026), graduation celebrations, and community updates. Recent highlights include the transition to a new campus at Martin Luther School – Whitemarsh and the launch of Martin Luther School – Plymouth. The school publishes the Panther Roar newsletter to keep families informed of school happenings and achievements.
